Someone wrote this onto the website for Pavinci's:  a great venue we've played in Lake Hapatcong...
OMG! what a great time I had Friday night! the band Phoenix was the best band by far that has ever played in your place! When are you going to have them back? I told all my friends and family about them and they can't wait to see what I am so crazy over.
They have to be the best band I have ever seen.

This was entered in our guestbook on August 2007...
You guys were FANTASTIC at the pig roast yesterday! Hope to have you back again next year! Would be hard to find a better classic rock cover band in NJ area, thanks again.

The following is an email from the bride of a wedding we played:

Hello!

To say that you guys rocked is a huge understatement.  Phoenix brought such a high energy to the reception and everyone had a blast!!  We owe a lot of the success of the wedding reception to you and everyone I've spoken to had such a great time.  I will never forget how everyone chanted for "ONE MORE SONG!!".  We felt like we at a rock concert.   Good luck and we'll see Phoenix at a show soon.

NJ Music Scene in Review:
Phoenix Classic Rock band from NJ. Members: Cliff, John, Ted, Howard and Rob " only found first names on their web page”. Rocked Cloud 9 and I see another show has been added Friday June 30th. Cloud 9 is located at 172 Union Ave West Paterson plenty of free parking at the rear of the club. The night I went to check out Phoenix, Their fans would not let them leave! Screams for one more song over the cheering crowd and at least 5 or 6 songs later, they packed to go home well after 2AM. Now that is a band that gives their fans what they want!

"Hope they made some extra $ they deserved it"

Phoenix is a must see they are performing Beatles, Eagles, Tull, Stones, Petty, SVR, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Clapton, Sabbath, Green Day, GnR and the list goes on and on 50's-through today their sound was tight and they had their own light show. Five music masters who put their own flavor on the music they covered. John the lead guitarist grabs the fans and doesn't let go! Playing solos of the masters but with a twist, behind his head with his teeth WOW! He has to be one of the top players I have seen in New Jersey today in my opinion. No Last Name?

But it doesn't stop there Cliff the second guitarist doesn't solo much but, sings the songs to the letter. When he performs a song he sounds just like the singer he is covering, not a lot of cover bands I have reviewed can claim the same. His vocals are money in the bank for this band. Cliff Who?

The bass player Rob along with John has to be the driving force behind this band, his playing is monstrous! His hands are flying around the neck as much as John's does during the solos! He plays like he was born with a bass in his hands "Who is that guy on bass? He is unreal!" A person standing next to me asked me who too, must have been witnessing Rob's playing for the first time like myself.

Teddy on keyboards keeps up with the rest and that is a lot to ask of him considering the songs that are being covered.

his solo of Tull's Locomotive Breath at the start of the song was one that is skipped over by many others covering this Tull song

and was a true credit to Ted's playing ability. his last name escapes me.

Howard on drums lays down steady rocking beats on the smallest drum kit I believe I have ever seen. He kept the crowd on their feet with a medley of The Wanderer and Kansas City with fine voice himself he's the total package. With no last oh you know. Phoenix is leaving their mark on the NJ club scene.

If you are looking to have a great time with a band that rocks!
Than look no more.

Their web page has more info about the guys and where they will be next
they are also available for private parties a great rates what else could we ask for. Check out their MP3s at
